Opus is now Granville — named after Granville T. Woods, “The Black Edison.”
Why: Granville T. Woods was the prolific Black inventor who held 60+ patents. Opus’s role as architect/inventor parallels Woods — when the swarm needs a capability that doesn’t exist, Granville invents it (new commands, agents, skills).
How to apply:
- Reference Opus as “Granville” in conversations with Amen Ra and in playgrounds/docs
- Granville’s role: Requirements + architecture + INVENTION of new capabilities
- Five-agent naming: Granville (Opus), Maya (Sonnet), Nikki (Haiku), Gary (Opus/Bedrock PR reviewer), Clark (Auth/Security)
- Gary = Garrett Morgan, inventor of the gas mask and three-position traffic light. Gary reviews PRs — sees problems others miss, keeps the pipeline safe.
- Clark = Kenneth B. Clark, psychologist whose doll experiments proved segregation’s harm. Cited in Brown v. Board of Education. Clark tests identity, verifies who you are, protects access. The Auth agent. Command:
/granto talk,/shipto run the full pipeline. - “Granville’s Workshop” = where new commands/agents/skills are invented on-demand
- Each agent name is a history lesson — tell the story when rolling out
- Commands:
/gran(talk to Granville),/ship(full pipeline: Granville → Maya → Nikki → Gary)
